The big launch!
After a busy few days finishing off the installation of our new exhibition we were ready to celebrate with a glass of wine at the official launch last night! Officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Brent, Councilor Aslam Choudry, guests had the opportunity to be the first to see the exhibition that celebrates the artist Louis Wain’s unique work. We were very pleased to have Rodney Dale, author of the most comprehensive biography of the artist, as our keynote speaker who expressed his pleasure at the exhibition and spoke of the artist’s life. On the 23rd June, the author will be talking about his book at one of our exhibition talks. Details of this talk and other free events for both adults and families can be found on our website and we will be telling you more about them nearer the time.
The exhibition is now open to the public and we hope that you will have an opportunity to visit. When you do please do offer your own thoughts on the artist’s work by writing your own interpretation label for one of the pieces of work- we would love to hear what you think. In addition to our adults and families events programme we are offering free lunch-time tours of the exhibition on the last Wednesday of each month, starting at 12pm.
