About Brent Museum

Brent Museum, formerly known as The Grange Museum, has been collecting and preserving objects related to the history of Brent for over 50 years. With a collection of over 10,000 artefacts, ranging from ancient items to nearly new pieces, the museum offers a deep dive into the lives and stories of the people of Brent.

Our diverse collection spans everything from oil paintings to toys, flapper dresses to toolboxes, all reflecting the rich cultural history of the borough. Visitors can explore unique local landmarks, such as Wembley’s very own Eiffel Tower, uncover the significance of Willesden’s pilgrimages, and step into the Victorian streets of Brent.

Plan Your Visit

At Brent Museum, our collections capture everyday life in Brent from 1850 to the present. This includes artefacts, video recordings, and oral histories, offering a comprehensive view of the borough’s working and domestic life. Many of these items can be explored through our online catalogue, which is regularly updated as we continue to expand and refine our database.

Exhibitions and Events

We host a series of free temporary exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing newly acquired objects, hidden gems from our stores, or special items on loan from other museums. Our exhibitions and events are designed to engage, educate, and inspire, reflecting both Brent’s history and the broader context of heritage in the UK.

Our current initiative, Becoming Brent, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Brent Council, invites the community to reflect on the legacy of the British Empire Exhibition of 1924-25. This project offers a platform for both residents and visitors to explore how the British Empire continues to shape Brent today, encouraging participation, activism, and a deeper connection to the borough’s history.

Whether you’re looking to reconnect with your roots or discover new stories, Brent Museum is your gateway to the rich and vibrant history of this unique borough. Come and explore, learn, and share your stories with us
