Next Saturday (October 29th) is the last day of the exhibition Communicating Through Cats: The Art and Mind of Louis Wain at Brent Museum, so if you haven’t had a chance to come and see it yet, then please make sure you do! I’ve chosen this lovely visitor comment to share with you this week, it was not written as a caption for one specific painting but as a reaction to the exhibition as a whole:

A most enjoyable exhibition. Thank you. I particularly liked the sequence of “how a cat gets round a dog”, and I could imagine Louis Wain observing this scenario at some time. He clearly found cats both endearing and entertaining in their antics and unique personalities. With so much to contend with in his own life, what a wonderful way he chose to channel positive energy. It is a pity he was somewhat exploited due to his vulnerability, but he remained a true artist.
