Testimonies

We always enjoy the opportunity to work with our neighbouring services at Willesden Green Library Centre, and this month we will be showcasing some of the Archives’ fantastic collections as part of the Testimonies project, which launches tonight at Brent Artists’ Resource.

The BAR gallery, downstairs from the Archives and Museum on the ground floor at Willesden Green, will be hosting an exhibition for this Cultural Olympiad and Inspire Mark project, which was created to explore Londoners’ stories and experiences before the Olympics in 1948 and today, and draw comparisons between them.

Brent Archives has provided some background to the 1948 Games, which were held in Wembley, with a display of material from our collections including original programmes and guides, books, and even a runners’ number. The case is outside BAR in the foyer at Willesden Green Library Centre; you can see the display and the main Testimonies exhibition, until 14 October (BAR is open 2pm-6pm).
