A work experience placement writes…

I have been a doing work experience with Brent Museum and the Brent Archives for a week, and throughout that period gained invaluable knowledge about the exhibitions that take place, the museum, and basically how everything operates. Although I want to be an architect when I’m older I have really benefited from this placement. Throughout my time here I have been set many tasks; the main one being to come up with insightful ideas of presenting a board on the current exhibition with students work on display, and taking my ideas forward. I have also been able to talk to different members of staff in the Archives or Museum about their line of work and the tasks they get up to. Other jobs included: research, helping out when a school came around to look at the Louis Wain exhibition and create cats in their own style, and visiting other exhibitions to give inspiration. I enjoyed the whole experience because it was so interesting to discover the working world and see behind the scenes. Therefore would love to come back again and be a helping hand.
