'Louis Wain: The Man who drew Cats'

To coincide with our current exhibition ‘Communicating Through Cats: The Art and Mind of Louis Wain’ we have an interesting programme of FREE talks on offer each month. For the first in the series we are pleased to be welcoming author Rodney Dale to give a talk about his biography of the artist- ‘Louis Wain: The Man who drew Cats’.

Rodney Dale first became interested in Louis Wain when he acquired one of the artist’s early pictures in 1966. At that time, Wain was largely forgotten, and Dale found it quite difficult to find out anything about him. As he started to gather what little material there was to be found, it gradually dawned upon him that he could be writing the first full-length biography of the artist– which was published in 1968.

Please join us on Thursday 23 June at 6:30pm when Rodney Dale will talk about his book, outlining the artist’s life, and talk about the work in our current exhibition.

This talk takes places in the temporary exhibition gallery, on the 1st floor of Willesden Green Library Centre.
